Now the router just has a Fast blinking green power light. Then I tried to do another flash OEM thinking it might have something to do with the problem. I noticed it started to act up real slow loading and not responsive. The wiki post and procedure to write this and press that is 90% correct, some values in the final step, the ones you can't change and have just to confirm with, are little different in the V24-SP1, but that's all.I was using DD-WRT V24 SP1 STD flashed back to Linksys OEM to compare download speeds. it happened for me at the 5th-6th "ping timeout" to get online into the Redboot terminal. so, when booting up, just count the number of "timeout ping" you receive AFTER the interface is up: before you get the 1/2 ping correctly start putty and get the connection. Plus, the Fonera will listen for less than 2 seconds on 192.168.1.1 for Redboot connection. The Fonera was listening in 192.168.1.1 and not. I also tryed to count 5 sec after powering it then blindly connet with putty, but nope, nothing is listening on the other side. _ ready to launch putty on 192.168.1.254:9000 looking for redboot access.īut nothing happens! i can see the fonera get the interface online/offline a couple of times before a complete boot, but it is never going to answer any of the pings, neither respond to putty connection. _ opened a cmd console with "ping 192.168.1.254 -t -w 200" to know when the fonera is online 1 for the fonera, made a factory reset via the web interface

_ The fonera is directly connected to the pc (fonera is autosense, so cross/patch cable is not critical) However, I was looking the forum posts, one after the other backward and you entry is the most promising, i have the RC6 of dd-wrt on the Fonera 2200, i want to cross the border, but i cannot access RedBoot prompt in any possible way - sure, I'm doing something wrong. I was stuck exacly in your situation: hundreds of tutorial/guides/wiki entries but nothing consistent with the current updated situation - to clearly say the sensation, about 90% are copies of copies of tutorial left alone without caring to look for updates to the original sources, this isn't helping at all rookies :(

#DD WRT V24 SP UPGRADE UPDATE#
My plan is to upgrade to the v24 SP1 release.īut as I've tried to explain I don't understand from the wiki if I have to use redboot to go from my current firmware to the v24 SP1, or if a web UI update will suffice. If I wanted witty remarks I would have gone to a bikerbar wearing a bikini, not to an online forum. If u dont know what u are doing go onln for the released stable versions! I really don't feel like bricking my fonera just because I've misunderstood the version labeling system.

Just want to know how to interpret these labels and how my own firmware version relates to them. I just found it confusing since diffrent post/wikis/guides referes to the different versions differently. Guide on HowTo be Safe, Secure and Protect Your Online Anonymity!
